The aeroLASE-PA100 is a high peak power fiber amplifier module, complete with pump and input signal interface fibers, enabling high pulse energy fiber laser manufacture without the challenges of complex splicing or interfacing. The aeroLASE-PA100 amplifier engine is based on the well-praized 30 µm MFD DC-200-40-PZ-Yb fiber – this fiber has established itself as the world’s best coilable fiber for high beam quality pulse amplification.
The fiber is polarizing (PZ)/polarization maintaining (PM). The amplifier engine includes a pump/signal combiner for counterpropagating pumping via standard 105 micron/0.15 NA pump fibers. A very high signal to pump isolation of the combiner protects the pump diodes from high pulse energies.
The scalable solution is designed for industrial use and enables a short time to market and low integration cost. The module is robustly single mode and polarizing. The combination of air-clad technology with a microstructured Yb-doped core provides amplification near 1 µm to 100 kW class peak power values. Hence, operation with 10 ns pulses can be sustained at 0.5 mJ pulse energy. The modules can be counter-directionally pumped with commercially available 915 or 976 nm pump diodes, with up to 14 pump ports per module. |
