In order to enable an all-fiber fiber system, we are manufacturing our own pump combiners and pump+signal combiners at NKT Photonics. Our combiners are based on the Photonic Crystal Fiber technology and benefit from low feed through losses with consequently high power handling capabilities. They also enable the full use of the airclad technology – allowing high pump NA and no need for polymer recoating of the splice point. With our combiners you do not need to have any specific PCF knowledge in-house in order to access all the benefits of the PCF technology.
